The town is proudly home to the last remaining Leigh-built commercial craft originally built in 1926.
"Endeavour" is a Cockle Bawley type boat, and the first Leigh cockle boat which had an engine.
Since 2001, the Endeavour Trust has worked to restore and maintain the craft.
When not in use for sailing, it is moored for viewing just off Old Leigh, level with the east end of the bridge into town.
Photos here are kindly provided by Rob Everitt of the Trust.
